     Nathaniel L. Webb was born on 27 October 1935 at Waynesboro, Pa.. He married Mary Rose Harsh on 10 November 1961. He died on 28 September 2017 at Hagerstown, Washington, Maryland, at age 81; Nathaniel Lee Webb Sr., 81, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at Greenfield Senior Living surrounded by his family.

Nathaniel was born in Waynesboro, Pa., on Oct. 27, 1935, to the late Roseanna (Guyer) and Francis L. Webb.

In addition to his parents, Nathaniel was preceded in death by his brother, William Webb.

Nathaniel was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran.

Nathaniel was a member of the Marine Corps League Antietam Detachment, AMVETS Post 10, American Legion Post 42, Maugansville Ruritan Club for more than 40 years, North American Rod and Gun Club, Boy Scout leader of Troop 64 for 10 years, Maugansville Little League manager for five years, and the Nestle Quarry by the Potomac Association.

He was a member of First Christian of Hagerstown and attended Broadfording Church of the Brethren Fellowship.

Nathaniel loved to travel, bowling in his senior bowling league for 17 years, playing in a senior softball league for 16 years, loved to golf, garden, fish, hunt, any outdoor activity and built three houses in his lifetime from the ground up.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Rose Webb; two sons, Nathaniel L. Webb Jr. and wife, Toni, of Hagerstown, and W. Andrew Webb and wife, Lori, of Greencastle, Pa; five grandchildren, Laura Bankert, Sheridan M. Webb, Nathaniel A. Webb, Maxwell Webb and Madison Webb; one great-granddaughter, Kennady Bankert; two sisters, Sarah E. Shrader and husband, William, of Hagerstown and Theresa Guessford of Front Royal, Va; stepbrother, Frances Webb of Winchester, Va; and golfing buddy, Jack Eichleberger of Hagerstown.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2017, at Rest Haven Funeral Home Inc., 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
