Paul "Wimp" Leon Hecker Jr., 70, of Hagerstown, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2007.
Born on Sept. 5, 1937, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Paul Leon Sr. and Clara Alice Kunkleman Hecker.
Paul was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
He retired from AT&T in 1987, after 40 years of service.
He was an avid golfer and loved gardening.
He was a member of multiple organizations throughout his life in Hagerstown.
Paul is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sally Anne; three daughters, Tammi Burke, Donna Hecker-Gross and Paula Grim; three grandchildren, Ellie Burke, Heather Grim and Todd Poffenberger; and sons-in-law, Tom Burke and Mike Grim. He was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Mark Gross.
He also is survived by two brothers, Roger and Charles Hecker, both of Hagerstown.
Funeral services will be held at Rest Haven Funeral Chapel, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, with the Rev. Loyal H. Vanderveer officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Haven Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
